How to obtain a Jordan visa
Visa on arrival (VOA)
Nationals of European Union, United Kingdom, United States, Japan, China, and more can obtain a tourist visa on arrival at Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport. Check wich country are not eligible to VOA below. The procedure is very quick, taking just 15 minutes in total (excluding queuing time). You choose your visa at the first counter, then pay for it at the second.
The only tourist visa for Jordan available on arrival is a single-entry, one-month (30-day) visa. Visa fees cost 40 JOD (≈ $51) and can only be paid in local currency (Jordanian dinar) for cash, or by bank card.

How to get the Jordan Pass
The Jordan Pass is a package that allows you to significantly reduce the cost of your activities. It’s a clever way for the government to encourage tourists to spend more time on its territory, as a Jordan Pass holder will be more inclined to want to visit several sites across the country. It will be particularly useful if you decide to visit Petra.

Jordan Pass packages
There are 3 different Jordan Passes. The only difference is the number of days you spend visiting one of the seven wonders of the world, Petra:
- Jordan Wanderer : 1 day in Petra (70 JD)
- Jordan Explorer : 2 days in Petra (75 JD)
- Jordan Expert : 3 days in Petra (80 JD)
Is the Jordan Pass worth it?
The Jordan Pass not only saves you time by avoiding queues at ticket offices, but also saves you a lot of money if you plan to visit several places in Jordan. For example, if you buy a visa, the cheapest will cost 40 JD. If you add a single entry to Petra, which costs 50 JD, the cost is already 90 JD, whereas Jordan Wanderer costs 70 JD. So you’d be well advised to take the Jordan Pass before you come. Note that the inclusion of visa fees can only be obtained if you spend a minimum of 4 days in the country.
